![]() For now its got wipe power on power off, no wash and no park. I think the cure will be the proper stalk for the loom, but that will have to wait until funds permit. I did have a quick look last week but couldn't find a supplier with a picture on their webiste. At a guess I'd say it belongs to a 300 or maybe a TD5. The connection method is very like that of the disco's I've broken in the past, and is nothing like the 200 TDi or the TD wiring loom. Its nice to have sorted it anyway.īest I could get without taking it off and I wasn't up for doing that. We've done it in such a way though we could put it back, albeit with a splice in the two blue/red wires. I wish I'd known about that.like you say its a bit neater and the wiring remains standard. I preferred the dummy relay method as everything remains standard that way Basically it just shorts those two pins out, same as you have done by cutting and joining. It's a dummy relay, part number YWZ10003L: anyway, would the lack of this transformer cause this problem?įor info, there is a proper Land Rover way of bypassing the Dim-Dip system. I've found what I think is the socket for it on the tdi loom, but it has 7 wires not the 5 of the diagram. It was there on the old loom, I've identified it from he five wires feeding it as per the wiring diagram. Checked the four fuses and they're fine, although for some reason the left main had a 30A fuse in it! What we haven't got and I wonder it its the problem is the voltage transformer.whatever that does. We've got main beam fine, but we've got no dipped beam and no flash. We've got sidelights, but not the indicator on the dash, which used to work before - dash illumination works too. Ideal world the switch needs changing out for the proper one and that may solve the problem, but, we've got wipe again, no park, but having jumped power to a pin to get an output when the button is pushed, we're only get 1 maybe 2 volts at the washer pump plug socket in the loom, and the wash wiper timer unit clicks away as it should. The wipers first, previously a later stalk was fitted that didn't match the old loom, so various pins were used to get the wipers working with a wash function. Sorted out the problems with the different wiring on the back of the ignition and got it running and stopping fine on the key, got hazards and indicators working, all the gauges apart from the voltmeter.Ģ problems though. It arrived in the week, all good, and we set to identifying its bits and making sure all was there, then started laying it in place. We plumbed for a 200TDi loom that was on ebay, thinking that an upgrade to a blade fuse box would be a good thing anyway. Everything was running fine until a fortnight ago, barring the usual dim lights due to bad earths and a reverse light that's temperamental. The vehicle is a 1988 E reg 110, according to the VIN originally fitted with a 19J but had a defender spec 200 tdi installed when he bought it. I need to get the main loom repaired as the funds for a new one just aint there at the moment. After an accidental fire in the engine bay of a friends 110 we spent yesterday in the cold fitting a replacement bulkhead loom. Does anyone have a colour wiring Diagram for a 1992 200tdi.
